About This Spot

Stepping into Michael's Steak & Lobster House is like slipping back into a cherished Baltimore tradition, where time moves at a comfortable, unhurried pace. Nestled on Eastern Avenue, this place wears its history quietly — the worn wood and simple, familiar decor suggest it’s seen countless family dinners, celebrations, and long evenings of good conversation. There’s no rush here, no flashy frills — just an honest, straightforward atmosphere that welcomes you to settle in and savor each moment.

The room hums with a laid-back energy, where the clink of glasses and low murmur of friendly chatter create a easygoing soundtrack. It’s the kind of spot where regulars and newcomers alike find common ground in the joy of a hearty meal and a well-poured drink. Servers move attentively but without hurry, adding a human touch that folds seamlessly into the experience instead of standing out.

At the heart of the visit is the food, a satisfying balance of robust flavors and generous portions rooted firmly in classic steakhouse and seafood traditions. There’s a comforting familiarity in the menu’s offerings — from juicy ribeyes that arrive perfectly seasoned and cooked just right, to tender crab cakes and rich, savory lobster preparations. Seasonal and daily specials add a sense of discovery, inviting diners to explore while still enjoying the dependability of beloved favorites.

What shines through is a quiet pride in the basics done well: a steak grilled over an open flame, a plate full of crab meat in just the right sauce, sides that balance the richness of the main courses without pretense. Drinks flow naturally into the experience, whether it’s a cold beer, a classic cocktail, or something stirred with care to accompany a special night out.

Michael’s doesn’t try to be a flashy destination or a trendy hotspot. Instead, it offers a space where the simple pleasure of good food and warm company feels enough — a glimpse of old Baltimore hospitality that remains welcoming and intact. Whether you’re marking a birthday, a casual weeknight, or simply craving a satisfying meal, this is a place where stories are shared and flavors linger long after the last bite.

Went to Michael's for my birthday as a less expensive alternative to Ruth's or Capital Grille. This place is old school in every sense of the word. Noticeable cleaning agent smell and weird drink menus made ordering a little challenging. The food saved the day though. We got stuffed mushrooms and crab balls and both were tasty and excellent. Entrees ranged from crab cakes to fish to NY Strip to 32oz prime rib. All of them were served to perfection. Trust me when I say you won't go home hungry and will likely take home leftovers too. Prime rib was supérb, yet Fred Flintstone sized. NY strip was great too. A little on on the med-rare side, but not enough to send back. Crab cakes were great and made traditionally without a majority of filler. Everyone loved the food. If you're feeling nostalgic, then this is the place to go. The decor is old school but the food was excellent. Drawback: tip was included on the bill (we had 5 at the table). Recommended.

My boyfriend decided to take me here for my birthday. It had been years since I dined here, maybe 25 years! The place still looks the same inside, and is not fancy at all but………., the food was amazing! My man had the steak special which is a prime rib and 2 sides (steak fries and a side salad) and I had the crab cakes and 2 sides (baked potatoe and side salad). He had a top shelf Long Island and I had an unsweet iced tea with lemon. The waitress, Chris, was super nice and very tentative. Everyone greeted us when we walked in, the hostess and the bartender. You can tell this is a neighborhood favorite. The prime rib was to die for, and was seasoned to perfection. It was also massive! It’s big enough to feed 3 people! The crab cakes were also huge and had hardly no filler, but had a lot of lumps and some backgin meat. They too were seasoned just right. I would absolutely dine here again! Our total bill was only $130 before the tip. The prices are great, the food is amazing and the service is stellar!

This place is amazing. Went for the first time on a Thursday night for steak night. This is not one of those fancy restaurants that you have to wear a jacket, no just come as you are. Our server was awesome. Got the 40oz Ribeye, medium-rare. Perfectly cooked. Perfectly seasoned. Not overly expensive for a 40oz. I will be back! And I would definitely recommend. Do yourself a huge favor go check this place out. You can thank me later.

Don’t be fooled by the appearance. This place is packed full with flavor!!! Went during restaurant week and was delighted. The service was excellent. The steaks were huge. And the crab chowder was full of crab meat. The imperial was chunks of crab. I can’t believe this is my first time patronizing the establishment. They appear to have daily specials ( you can get a 26oz steak for $17 on Tuesday). The baklava is made fresh and warm when it comes to your table. The bread was massive and warm! First impression is the charm and I’m impressed. Too much food to finish the meal. The vegetables are lacking, but everything else over shadowed them so no loss there.

My partner and I patronized this establishment 11-25-23. We were promptly greeted and seated. Our server Oscar was tentative and polite. I ordered a (Medium Well) Sirloin & Lobster Combo. My man ordered the Sirloin & Crab Cakes Combo. There was a bit of a wait for our food to come out. I'm unsure the actual reason but it happens sometimes, no big deal. My steak was seasoned and cooked perfectly. We both agreed our steaks were delicious! I would recommend this location and specifically the Sirloin Steak.

Thursday night steak special can’t be beat. $45 for 40 oz porterhouse, t-bone or prime rib plus two sides. Porterhouse was very well seasoned and cooked medium well as requested. Seafood platter was also good. Fried scallops and flounder were especially good. Service was excellent. Very old school atmosphere…very local feel in a good way. Would definitely go back.

They were out of the Porterhouse and Tbone's but the NY strip was fine. The flounder w/ crab was great. Waitress was great and staff was friendly. Pricing was very fair.
